CFDA Fashion Awards, Best Dressed

The $10,000-a-seat tickets raised $1.3 million for the Council of 'Fashion Designers of America's programs'. That was before Lady Gaga took to the stage to receive her Fashion Icon award in staggering 12-inch platforms and a studded G-string...

Fashion Icon Award winner Lady Gaga, in custom Mugler.

Loving Gaga's jade green/turquoise hair! It's my favourite colour at the moment, and it was about time she made her next fashion morph - I think we were all getting a little fed up with the Cruella Deville look.

Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, both in The Row, with Cartier jewels and The Row bags.

I completely understand this look, and no doubt about it they look great (but they'd look great in a bin bag wouldn't they?), but my love for 90s fashion doesn't go this far just yet - those diamonte pointed kitten heels are too much for me. The gold thin strap stilettos on the other hand - love.

Chanel Iman, in BCBG Max Azria, with Lubov Azria.

I love the bold colours and styles of these dresses, but I don't like these dresses together. They look like block colour twins!

Photobucket

Adam Kimmel with Leelee Sobieski.

Loving this cream 90s suit with the red lippy and minimal eye make up. Love the whole look.

Jessica Alba, in custom Diane von Furstenberg, with Fallon and Swarovski jewels.

You could argue that Jessica Alba is playing it safe with this dress, but I assume there's little to choose from when you're about to pop!

Cynthia Rowley, with Amber Heard, in a dress by the designer.

I love the left ensemble, but the nude dress on the right is so 'done'. It bores me I'm afraid.

New nail varnish review! Colours for summer 2011

So I have overdone it over the last few weeks going crazy buying nail varnish that I don't need, especially considering my collection is around 80 now. But look how pretty!

I got the Sephora by OPI and the mini Sephora ones in America, obviously. I also got the Essie in America also - they were $8 - SO much cheaper than they are here (£10). And the final America buy was the green American Apparel, which I am obsessed with at the moment. The China Glaze was from Sally's (3 for £10? Or a similar good deal!) And the matte and 'pearl navy' are from ELF. The Nail inc was from TK Maxx in a set that my mum got for £8 for 3!! She didn't like the pink so let me have it, result!

Now for the review:

Sephora by OPI - just as good as OPI, they go on wonderfully and have the most delicious range of colours. 10/10

China Glaze - They go on gorgeously, 10/10 for that and their colour range is good but not amazing but that is just due to Sallys selection, not the brand as a whole.

American Apparel - goes on well, but chips quite easily. But shuv on a good top cat such as Seche Vite and you'll be fine. Due to their AMAZING colour range (none are shimmer-all plain coloured) they get 9/10.

ELF - the matte is good. Not the best but 100% worth the £1.50 it costs! The Navy on the other hand looks like it will good a good Barry M dupe on the website, but in reality it is pretty awful! The colour is dull, not really shimmery or pearly at all, and almost looks black with 2 coats. Not impressed with that one. Considering all factors; quality, colour range, and price, I would give ELF nail varnishes 6/10.

I've been lazy and left off the colour names - will update this post ASAP!

23!

Is it weird that in a way I feel older than that? I'm not one of these people who worries about age - once I reach my birthday I feel that age already, and don't mind getting older because I'm exciting for the things to come!

Lucky Birthday Girl

Here are my new Carvelas that my lovely boyfriend treated me to. He knows the way to my heart!

They're a taupe suede with a zip at the back. I have never been able to wear a shoe like this before because my feet are so scrawny I usually need a strap, buckle or lace to keep my feet held secure to avoid doing a Naomi Campbell and stacking one, but luckily I found these slim fitting babies and it was love at first try!

As you can see they're a pretty classic colour and style so they should keep my fickle self happy for a long time. They're versatile and comfy but boy are they going to need a thick layer of suede protector! My friend's engagement party is coming up and cannot wait to sport these with a jade green ASOS dress (which I'm praying fits when it arrives this week!).

Girl Crush!

I assume she needs no introduction. At the ripe age of 23 Rosie has achieved what most models (and actresses) only dream of! She is a Victoria Secret Angel, she has been the face of Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Thomas Wylde to name a fraction, she features on the runway every season, covered Vogue UK, Spain, etc. She has just topped the FHM's 2011 sexiest woman list - above Katy Perry, Rhianna, Megan Fox, and Olivia Wilde! AND she is the female lead in Transformers 3, Dark of The Moon (UK release date 1st July).

I also like that she has stuck to her British roots by modelling for the UK highstreet - Next and Monsoon.

I've never seen Rosie looking particularly fashionable or prim when papped, but gosh does she scrub up well! Understatement of the century?
