Lipstick review

Photobucket

I've bought these 2 lipsticks this weekend from Boots and have decided to do a review on them. They are 17, Mirror Shine On in 'Bee Hive' £4.59, Revlon, Colour Matte in 'Nude Attitude' £7.49, and Rimmel Colour Showoff in 'Tell No One' £6.29.

I really like this lipstick. It's super shiny and moisturising. The colour is subtle, but its more prominent and stays longer than a gloss. It's a very wearable colour, and its easy to touch up. I wore it on Saturday night and didn't even need a mirror to quickly re-apply. I think the price is pretty good for the quality at £4.59, but as you can see from the photo it hasn't been made very well as the lipstick has been shaved by opening and closing which you often find with very cheap brands. The packaging also looks cheap in my opinion, but I guess it matches the price.

I like this lipstick, but it's too cakey for my liking. I know it's called 'Revlon Matte' but I thought it would be OK from testing it out on my hand. It's a perfect nude colour but doesn't look look brilliant on due to it being too matte. If it was more moisturising it would be perfect. For the price, £7.49 I was pretty disappointed when I tried it. I will still wear it in moderation, but it needs checking up on throughout the night to make sure it hasn't caked too much! I quite like the packaging - it's pretty boring but looks more expensive and feels sturdy. It's my favourite packaging out of the three.

I love this lipstick. It's pretty matte but isn't at all cakey - you can see the shine in the photo. It's a really rich coral red shade, perfect if you want to be daring but don't want to go for the generic bright red lips. I think it's worth the price at £6.29. Its a pretty generic price for a drugstore lipstick and it's above average quality wise so yes I highly recommend! The packaging is pretty cheap but its quite eye catching and bold. I'm a girly girl but not overly fussed by pink so I'm impartial to this one.

Please let me know which drugstore lipsticks you recommend!

This is me wearing Tell No One before going out to a family do on Saturday night. I'm wearing a H&M playsuit, Primark waterfall blazer and Accessorize earrings, and Steve Madden suede wedge boots. My rings are from H&M, Forever 21 & Primark, and my nail varnish is from Sephora.
